Join us for a beginner focused Hatha Yoga class. Each class is safe for the newest yogis but will also provide instruction for intermediate or advanced postures (allowing you to challenge yourself as you learn to integrate the fundamentals of a yoga practice safely and mindfully).

Each week we will explore different asanas (poses) with specific focus for strength, balance and flexibility. Learn the basics of pranayama (breath work), safely integrate your movements with conscious breathing in a vinyasa, develop fun and creative yoga flows, and finally finish the class in everyone’s favorite pose: savasana.

If you have never tried yoga, Hatha is the place to start. Hatha Yoga is a practice that balances Effort with Ease. The “Effort” of a physical (asana) practice combined with the “Ease” developed through mindfulness as we explore the impact and meditative quality of our breath (pranayama). It is this balance that makes yoga unique, and is why healthcare professionals recommend yoga for stress, anxiety, depression and a myriad of health issues. Yoga is a great compliment to any workout, including dance!

Instructor Bio: Ruth is a 200 hr Certified Yoga Instructor and teaches Integrated Hatha and Restorative Yoga. She discovered yoga nearly a decade ago while managing a fitness club for women. It was at that job she learned she had a passion for working with people in the fitness industry and yoga sparked a new interest in her.

By 2015 her attention was focused on yoga as she developed a dedicated yoga practice out of necessity to counteract the effects of scoliosis. Since then, she has expanded her personal practice to include training that allows her to share the powerful healing effects of yoga with others.

She is also a Licensed Cosmetologist and in her free time she enjoys spending time at the lake with her husband and daughter and dancing with Ms. Rebecca’s adult ballet/lyrical class.
