Rebecca Brown received her early ballet training at Blue Springs Ballet, becoming a member of their pre-professional ballet company at the age of 14. She attended Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts High School for 4 years as a dance major, graduating with top honors. During her time at Paseo, Rebecca received scholarships to attend summer dance intensives and participated in classes at highly regarded dance institutions, including Joffrey Ballet in New York City.
Rebecca attended UMKC as a dance major, training under Mary Pat Henry, Paula Weber, DeeAnna Hiett, Catherine Plavcan, and the late Leni Wylliams. During this time, she had the opportunity to travel and study with numerous master teachers. While there, she trained and performed in ballet and modern techniques as well as jazz, dance history, anatomy, improvisation, choreography, Flamenco, costume design, and pas de deux.
She has been teaching dance for 25+ years and has choreographed countless pieces during her career. An avid life-long learner, Rebecca continues to train and expand her knowledge of dance pedagogy through conventions, master classes, and workshops. She is constantly looking for inspiration – seeking new and improved ways to teach. She has a passion for teaching – inspiring her students to develop as artists, while providing them with a solid foundation in dance technique. Several of her students have gone on to dance professionally and/or at the university level.
Rebecca currently resides in Kansas City, MO and is the proud mother of 4 amazing children. She recently married the love of her life, who is her biggest encourager and supporter!

Ms. Elizabeth - Instructor
Elizabeth Schonfeldt began her dance training at the age of three in the Northland. She trained in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, contemporary, and lyrical. She was very active in choir and theatre in high school, as well as performing in many productions with Gladstone Theatre in the Park. She went on to dance with the Northwest Dance Company at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO, where she majored in public relations.
Elizabeth continued dancing as an adult, dancing competitively for two years. She has taught dance since 2010. In 2024 she completed her certification for Certified Personal Training and currently trains women in group fitness classes. Elizabeth has a passion for teaching both kids and adults and sharing her love of dance with others.

Ms. Kyrsten - Instructor
Kyrsten Mormino began dancing at the age of 5 and trained in multiple genres, especially falling in love with ballet and eventually pointe. She also enjoyed tumbling competitively for 4 years and dancing on her high school dance team. Several of the BDA instructors trained Kyrsten in her years of being a student, including dancing for 3 years at Boundless before graduating high school. Kyrsten returned to BDA as an instructor after finishing college. She works during the day as a Speech Language Pathologist at a local elementary school and is very excited to be teaching dance at BDA!

Ms. Paula - Instructor
Paula Lang is a native of Kansas City, MO. She has been a part of AileyCamp for 31 years. Paula also serves as the Dance Department Chair at Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts and was recently recognized for her 5 years of service. A graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, she began dance training at an early age and studied extensively in Kansas City with Tatiana Dokoudovska. She later studied dance at the Ailey School in New York City after being personally chosen and awarded a scholarship by Alvin Ailey.
Paula performed locally with the Kansas City Ballet, Lyric Opera, Theater in the Park, Missouri Repertory Theater, American Heartland Theater, Coterie Theater, Starlight Theater, Ethos Dance Company, and in Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey's Setting the Stage. Also an accomplished choreographer, Ms. Lang performed and choreographed for the Houston Opera and Radio Disney Entertainment. Most recently she choreographed productions for local theaters such as Zombie Prom, Babes in Arms, In the Heights, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Chicago, High School Musical, Dream Girls, Rent, Jesus Christ Superstar, Little Shop of Horrors, Hairspray, Anything Goes, The Wiz, Shrek, and a production called The Sounds of Philadelphia. Paula is also an instructor with Mindy’s Dance Center.
As an art educator with more than twenty years' experience in both Early Childhood and Elementary/Secondary education, Paula was recognized by the Missouri Arts Academy for the significant impact she’s made educating Missouri youth.
Her credits as an art educator include, instruction at St. Mark's Child and Family Development Center, Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts, Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey-Master Teaching Artist, Director of AileyCamp Kansas and Owner/Director of her own school, the Lang School of Dance.

Ms. Roxanne - Instructor
Roxanne Bootka began dancing at the age of 3. She trained in multiple genres of dance, including jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, tumbling, lyrical, and hip hop. She danced competitively for 6 years and was awarded the prestigious title of Dancer of the Year at her studio in 2002. She later went on to teach there for 7 years.
Roxanne has a strong technical dance background and a talent for highlighting the best in each student in her choreography. She attends conventions and master classes, where she acquires the latest industry training techniques and gains inspiration for the classroom.
Roxanne has been teaching at Boundless Dance Academy since we opened in October 2013. She works during the day in the medical field and is the proud mother of one daughter, Vivienne.
We are fortunate to have her passion and enthusiasm for teaching here at BDA!

Ms. Linda - Office Manager
Ms. Linda is the smiling face behind the desk at BDA!
She attended Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville and William Jewell College in Liberty - graduating from William Jewell with degrees in Business Administration and Secondary Education. She worked in various business administration roles over the span of 40 year and is the proud mother of two adult children. Her son Shawn is an attorney in the Springfield area and her daughter Rebecca is the Director of Boundless Dance Academy.
Linda took Adult Tap at Boundless Dance Academy for a few years and loved the challenge both mentally and physically. She enjoys helping all the families in the office and getting to know each student. She is retired from her day job and is always ready to take on new and exciting challenges, while helping Rebecca fulfill her dream.

Ms. Asia - Assistant Instructor
Asia McGill began dancing at the age of 3. During her years as a student, she has trained in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and tumbling. Her favorite style of dance is tap! Asia danced competitively for 2 years and was awarded a tap scholarship. She danced on her high school dance team for 2 years and was honored with the title of All American Dancer her senior year. Asia continues to take classes as a student, to further learn and improve her technique in dance. She has been a classroom demonstrator for several years at BDA and is currently an assistant instructor. Asia is great with kids and enjoys working with them each week.

Ms. Karlie - Assistant Instructor
Karlie Mormino started dancing at age 3 and learned multiple styles, including ballet, modern, tap, and pointe. Karlie enjoyed learning from multiple BDA instructors in her years as a dance student. She danced on Fort Osage High School’s dance team for 3 years. Post-high school, Karlie graduated college with a bachelors in sociology, and then returned as an instructor at BDA. Karlie now works during the day as a Senior Enrollment Advisor at UMKC. Karlie is very excited and thankful for the opportunity to return as a teacher at Boundless Dance Academy.
